Prior to the opening ceremony, the delegates paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh by offering incense and flowers at the statue of Uncle Ho with children on the grounds of the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House. The ceremony expressed their gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh while reaffirming the longstanding tradition of solidarity and friendship among the younger generations of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
Held annually, the festival serves as a platform to strengthen solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding among children from the three neighboring countries. This year's program features a variety of experiential activities, cultural exchanges and educational visits designed to foster cross-cultural learning and friendship.

The festival, held from July 28 to 30, brings together 49 child delegates from Laos, 19 from Cambodia, and 52 from Vietnam, representing Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, An Giang, Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City.
Throughout the festival, participants will engage in friendship-building activities, explore the cultural heritage of the three countries, visit iconic landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City, enjoy circus performances, experience creative learning spaces, and take part in a range of vibrant cultural exchange programs.
Through this series of activities, the organizers hope that the delegates will gain meaningful experiences, build lasting friendships, and contribute to strengthening the traditional solidarity and friendship among Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The festival also aims to inspire the younger generation to embrace the values of cooperation, mutual support and shared development.
| The Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Children's Festival has been held biennially since 2010. The 2020 edition was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization assigned Ho Chi Minh City to host the festival at the national level. Since then, the event has continued to provide an engaging and educational platform for children from the three countries, while showcasing their rich histories, cultural identities and enduring traditions. |
On June 28, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, in coordination with the Management Board of the Laos-Cambodia Student Dormitory, organized the 2026 “Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Family Day” at the Laos-Cambodia Student Dormitory in Ho Chi Minh City. |
The move aims to strengthen tourism cooperation among the three countries, assess the current situation, and identify difficulties in connecting tour routes to propose measures to promote tourism development in the coming period. |
