The Ambassador stated that, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Mexican Embassy in Vietnam will organize a variety of unique cultural exchange activities throughout 2025.

According to the Ambassador, a highlight of these events will be the exhibition titled "Journey to Ancient Mexico," scheduled for May 19 around Hoan Kiem Lake. The exhibition will showcase artifacts and cultural heritage from ancient Mexican civilizations. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the exhibition will draw public interest in Hanoi and among Vietnamese citizens, thereby fostering greater cultural understanding and connections between the two nations.

Ambassador Alejandro Negrín Munoz emphasized that Mexico has always regarded Vietnam as an important partner. This is evidenced by Mexico being the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic ties with Vietnam after the war. Currently, Mexico is Vietnam’s second-largest trading partner in Latin America, while Vietnam also ranks as Mexico’s second-largest trading partner within ASEAN.

Hanoi People’s Committee Chairman Tran Sy Thanh highly appreciated Mexico’s contributions to promoting economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries. He mentioned the growing presence of businesses from both nations in each other’s markets, such as Mexico’s KidZania entertainment center at Lotte Mall West Lake and FPT Corporation’s branch in Guadalajara. Events like “Vietnam Week,” “Vietnam Day” in Mexico, and cultural exhibitions featuring the Olmec civilization have all contributed to enhancing mutual understanding and ties between the peoples of the two countries.

The Chairman also stressed that Hanoi is committed to continuing its support for the Mexican Embassy’s activities related to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, contributing to the deepening, substantial, and effective development of the Vietnam-Mexico comprehensive partnership.
