Vietnam Plays an Active Role in Enhancing ASEAN-Bangladesh Relations

Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed gratitude to the ASEAN member nations' embassies in Bangladesh for their enthusiastic support during Vietnam's tenure as the rotating chair of the ADC.

He reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to promoting research, proposing new initiatives, and collaborating with ADC member embassies to organize practical events in 2025, such as ASEAN Family Day and activities to celebrate ASEAN's 58th founding anniversary in Dhaka.

Participants shared information about each country's diplomatic activities and discussed the current political and social situation in Bangladesh, the roadmap for its parliamentary elections, and the ADC’s planned activities for 2025.

They discussed measures to enhance information exchange and mutual support among the ADC member embassies, aiming to improve the effectiveness of their missions.

The discussions provided valuable insights for ASEAN diplomats, especially as Bangladesh's interim government faces pressure to implement reforms ahead of the general elections scheduled for late 2025 or early 2026.

The meeting fostered friendship and solidarity among ASEAN nations and strengthened cooperation between ASEAN and Bangladesh.
