Vietnam Receives Medical Equipment for Malaria Testing Donated by Australia

The Military Institute of Preventive Medicine has received the HumaLoop LAMP system, used for malaria testing, donated by the Australian Department of Defense. |
At the handover ceremony, Colonel Le Van Dong, Deputy Director of the Military Medical Department, General Department of Logistics said cooperation in malaria prevention and control is a testament to effective cooperation between the two countries and the two armies. Thereby, it contributes to improving the capacity for medical treatment and protection for soldiers against vector-borne infectious diseases.
Australia has accompanied the Vietnamese Military Medical Corps to effectively implement many collaborative and research projects on malaria, contributing to improving the professional and foreign language skills of Vietnamese military medical staff, towards nationwide elimination of malaria by 2030, as set by the government's National Program.
Colonel Mick Jansen, Australian Defense Attaché to Vietnam, expressed his hope that the medical equipment could contribute to helping the Vietnamese Army improve its disease treatment capacity and achieve the goal of eliminating malaria.
