Vietnam Remembers the Wholehearted Support of the Lao People

In her remarks, Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh emphasized that on September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), marking the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and territorially intact nation.

Over the past 80 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people have achieved historic victories in the struggle for national liberation and reunification, and achieved great and comprehensive accomplishments across all fields. The Ambassador congratulated Vietnam on maintaining political stability, ensuring strong national defense and security, sustaining robust economic growth, advancing education and socio-cultural development, and increasingly affirming its position in the region and on the international stage.
The Ambassador stressed that Laos and Vietnam are close neighbors who once stood shoulder to shoulder in the struggle for independence and now continue to accompany each other in the cause of nation-building and development. She extended her congratulations to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam as well as the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, reaffirming her determination to work with the Association to implement cooperation initiatives set forth by the leaders of the two countries.
Expressing appreciation for the sentiments and good wishes of Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh, President of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association Nguyen Dac Vinh recalled Vietnam’s 80-year history, including 30 years of struggle for independence and reunification, and nearly 40 years of Doi Moi. He emphasized that today’s achievements bear the important contributions of the sincere and wholehearted support of the Lao people.
President Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches special importance to and preserves its great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Laos. He noted that the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association is working to prepare activities marking the 80th National Day, including a program to welcome a delegation from the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, led by its President Boviengkham Vongdara, to visit Vietnam. He expressed his desire to strengthen exchanges and establish regular channels of connection to promote people-to-people cooperation, thereby further deepening the special bonds between the two countries.
