General To Lam, member of the Vietnamese Politburo, Minister of Public Security received Lieutenant General Vanthong Kongmany, Member of Laotian Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security on his visit to Vietnam. The meeting took place in Hanoi on July 7.

Gen. Lam noted that although both Vietnam and Laos had faced numerous difficulties from the Covid-19 pandemic, the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and the two ministries continued to thrive with substantial outcomes.

The two ministries had continued the implementation of the regulations on professional coordination and cooperation in ensuring national security, social order, and safety while working closely together to carry out security plans during important events and visits of senior leaders of both sides, he noted.

Minister To Lam emphasized that the visit of the delegation of the Lao Ministry of Public Security affirmed the political trust, brotherhood, and comradeship between the two people's police forces. The visit lays the basis for functional units of the two ministries to promote cooperation in security, crime prevention and control, and political work.

On this occasion, Minister To Lam sent his warmest greetings to General Vilay Lakhamphong, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Public Security of Laos, along with other leaders of the ministry.

For his part, the Lao official highly valued the cooperation results between the two ministries over the years, especially in crime prevention and combat. He believes that the collaboration between the public security forces of Laos and Vietnam will further develop, serving the socio-economic development and external relations of both countries.
