(VNF) - Seven Vietnamese contemporary artists will take part in one of the largest and most important exhibitions on contemporary art in Southeast Asia next month in Tokyo, Japan.

The exhibition entitled “Sunshower – Southeast Asian Contemporary Art 1980s to Present”will be co-organized by the National Art Center in Tokyo, the Mori Art Museum and the Japan Foundation Center Asia Foundation.

Besides famous contemporary artists in the region such as Lee Wen, FX Harsono… Vietnam has 7 artists that will be participating in this exhibition including Trần Lương (1960), Lê Quang Đỉnh (1968), Tiffany Chung (1969), Ưu Đàm Trần Nguyễn (1971), Hoàng Dương Cầm (1974), Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn (1976) and Bàng Nhất Linh (1983).

This is a project that has been prepared for the last two years. Project curators have traveled throughout 10 Southeast Asian countries to carry out research projects, meet artists and select works and artist for the project. The research trip focused on Vietnam was completed by the end of 2015.

The exhibition will be opened on July 5^th simultaneously at the National Art Center in Tokyo and Mori Art Museum until October 23^rd./.
