Vietnamese Cuisine Captivates International Friends at the United Nations
The event aims to celebrate the coming Lunar New Year and welcome the General Assembly's Resolution to recognize the Lunar New Year as a United Nations holiday.
The reception was attended by members of the diplomatic corps in New York, including ambassadors and charge d'affaires of all delegations of member countries and observers of the ASEAN, the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation, who on their visit to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) - United Nations hearing and the ASEAN Chairman's Special Envoy to Myanmar, who is on a business trip in New York.

In his remark, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, emphasized the important meaning of the Lunar New Year in the traditional culture of Vietnam and Asian peoples. For Vietnamese people, the Lunar New Year is an occasion to gather, communicate, and connect with family and community. Everyone looks back on the past year together, and exchanges wishes, gratitude, and hopes for a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

In that spirit, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang expressed his wish that in the New Year of the Dragon, United Nations member countries, especially the ASEAN Committee in New York, continue to strengthen cooperation, solidarity, and joint efforts to find solutions to global challenges, contributing to building a world of peace, stability, and sustainable development.
In the cozy and intimate atmosphere of the new year, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, his spouse and the mission's staff invited the guests to enjoy traditional and unique dishes that are only available during Vietnamese Tet.
