Khanh Nguyen and her husband meet Poussieres de Vie's representative to officially give them all the USD 17,315 donation at the consulate general of France in Ho Chi Minh City.

Khanh Nguyen, a native of southern Vung Tau Town, and her husband set out on their honeymoon trip from his hometown, Vendée in the western-central region of France in April 2019 and recently arrived in Ho Chi Minh city.

Although they need to take a break due to the COVID-19 epidemic, they have managed to raise more than their original target of USD 16,000 for the NGO "Poussières de Vie".

While they visited the Consulate General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, the duo meets Poussieres de Vie's representative and officially gave them all the USD 17,315 donation received during one year.

The couple’s journey is not just because of their love of cycling, but also to raise money for a good cause.

This amazing couple met in Vietnam in 2015 and got married in 2019. For their honeymoon they decided to do something a bit special: to cycle together from France to Vietnam during almost one year.

"Poussières de Vie" ("Dust of Life" in English) is a non-profit organization helping Vietnam’s most disadvantaged people through funding and managing a variety of projects in Vietnam.

They promote lasting change in the lives of Vietnamese disadvantaged children by bringing them back to school, teaching them a trade, and helping with their personal development.

According to Thibault, he has been thinking about this project since he was little. There were always loads of bikes in his house.

"When I went to Vietnam in 2015 to do voluntary overseas work with Saint-Gobain, I met my wife, Khanh Nguyen (Léa) and invited her to join me before we got married. She said “yes” right away!

Over a 4-year period in Vietnam, we were always very active in associations and charities, and in particular Poussières de Vie association. This wonderful organization educates and trains children from underprivileged backgrounds. When we met the children, we would often tell them that working hard at school was the best way to be able to follow their dreams later in life.

That’s why our big adventure, our dream, was always going to be about supporting education, and so we decided to try to raise funds for Poussières de Vie (USD 1 per km)," he said in an interview published in the EDHEC Alumni Association's website.

“Non La” (Conical hat) is the Vietnamese word for the round pointed hats you see everywhere in Vietnam. Khanh Nguyen and her husband wore one on their bikes for the whole journey.

They have chosen winding mountain routes over normal roads to explore better the natural beauty on the way, as well as to meet new friends.
