Vietnamese 'ghost driver' accelerates Mercedes to deadly speed
Vietnam’s Law on Road Traffic stipulates that drivers are allowed to speed at a maximum of 120km/h (75mph) through this section, Motthegioi reported.
Exceeding the maximum speed limit is the main cause leading to many tragic road accidents in the area.
The video was filmed by a companion in the backseat, who cheered the illegal drive with enjoyable and proud tones counting the speeds of the car from 195km/h (121mph) to 243km/h (145mph).
The video was then posted onFacebook and slammed by thousands of angry reactions.
According to Decree 100/2019, driver who violates maximum speed limit could be penalized from VND800,000 (US$34) to VND 12 million (US$515) and has driving license revoked for one to four months.
