The signing cooperation agreement between the Japan-Vietnam Gastronomy Association and the Vietnam-Japan Business Association is expected to bring great success, contributing to promoting the growing relationship between Vietnam-Japan, Nhan Dan Online reported.

The Japan-Vietnam Gastronomy Association (JVGA) and the Vietnam-Japan Business Association (VJBA) signed a cooperation agreement in Ho Chi Minh City, on November 19.

This is an activity within the framework of the Vietnam Food Expo 2022 event, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan and the VJBA.

Accordingly, the two sides cooperate under the motto of mutual benefit. The sides work together to coordinate regular, long-term and sustainably, based on promoting the functions of each side and mobilising resources to effectively carry out commercial activities, and promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam and Japan.

“Japanese consumers are already familiar with the terms Anzen and Anshin, which mean “Safety” and “Peace of mind”, in using all agricultural, aquatic and food products including manufactured goods, domestic or imported from abroad. Recently, with fluctuating exchange rates, domestic food prices have become more expensive, Japanese consumers tend to prefer products with reasonable prices but still ensure quality. Many Japanese supermarkets also aim to import good quality agricultural and aquatic products with reasonable prices from Vietnam such as tra (pangasius) fish, chicken, shrimp, mango, banana, dragon fruit and other frozen products," said VJBA Chairman Vu Hoang Duc.

In addition, agricultural and aquatic products and food imported from Vietnam have also been consumed well in recent years to serve the consumption needs of the increasing number of Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Japan today, (with nearly 500,000 people in 2021, ranking second in the number of foreigners in Japan). Thus, it can be seen that Vietnam's agricultural, aquatic products and food products have been and will still have a lot of potential to be exported, penetrate and expand their market share in the Japanese market.
