On July 23, the Vietnamese Knowledge Network in New Zealand (VietKnowledge NZ - VKNZ) was officially launched, with representatives of Vietnamese community groups and a large number of overseas Vietnamese, workers, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, postgraduate researchers, and students living, studying, and working across New Zealand in attendance.
The event marked the establishment of the first nationwide network connecting Vietnamese intellectuals in New Zealand. VKNZ was founded to connect and harness the intellectual resources of the Vietnamese community, strengthen community ties, promote people-to-people cooperation and bilateral relations, and make positive contributions to the development of both Vietnam and New Zealand.

With the support and companionship of the Embassy of Vietnam in New Zealand, VKNZ aims to build a united, dynamic, and influential community; provide a platform for members to share knowledge, experience, and initiatives; and serve as a bridge for promoting professional cooperation, community development, and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and New Zealand.
Speaking highly of the significance and importance of the initiative to establish VKNZ, Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Phan Minh Giang stressed that as the Vietnamese community in New Zealand continues to grow in both size and quality, VKNZ was established for Vietnamese people, by Vietnamese people, and for the benefit of Vietnamese people in New Zealand.
Offering guidance on the network's development in the coming period, Ambassador Phan Minh Giang shared a message centered on “three enhancements”: cherishing and caring for Vietnamese people while uniting for development; enhancing Vietnam's image while preserving and promoting Vietnamese identity; and elevating Vietnam's standing in New Zealand.
One of VKNZ's notable features is its broad approach to the concept of “knowledge.” Knowledge is not limited to academia or research, but also encompasses professional expertise, life skills, practical experience, and lessons accumulated through study, work, and contributions to society.
With this spirit, VKNZ welcomes all Vietnamese people in New Zealand who wish to connect, share, and contribute, regardless of their profession, field of activity, or educational background.
There are currently nearly 15,000 Vietnamese people living in New Zealand. The launch of VKNZ is expected to serve not only as a platform for community connections but also as a bridge to promote cooperation, spread knowledge, and strengthen people-to-people exchanges, contributing to the building of a united, integrated, and sustainably developing Vietnamese community in New Zealand.
