Aiming to make women a driving force for national development
Assessing the results of the previous term, the Congress affirmed that amid a rapidly changing domestic and international environment, where opportunities and challenges coexisted, Women's Union organizations at all levels and women across the country upheld their tradition of solidarity, overcame difficulties, and achieved comprehensive results in both the women's movement and Union activities. These achievements were made possible through the leadership of the Party, the support of the State, the National Assembly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, as well as the cooperation and assistance of ministries, sectors, localities, and domestic and international organizations.
Based on an analysis of opportunities, challenges, and the requirements of the new period, the Congress defined the overall goal for the 2026-2031 term as promoting women's traditions, innovative spirit, mastery of knowledge, confidence, international integration, and aspirations for advancement; encouraging their active participation in building a clean and strong Party and political system; and contributing to the consolidation of the great national unity bloc.
The Congress also identified the task of building a contingent of Women's Union officials who are resilient, dedicated, and innovative; improving the quality and effectiveness of Union activities in response to new circumstances; and mobilizing the participation of the entire society in promoting gender equality, improving women's material and spiritual well-being, and creating conditions for their comprehensive development.
A notable highlight of the Congress Resolution is the goal that by 2030, Vietnamese women will become a driving force for development and a pillar of happiness for families and society. The Vietnam Women's Union strives to become a pioneering organization advocating for gender equality and women's advancement, contributing to the building of a democratic, prosperous, thriving, civilized, and happy nation.
The Congress approved 12 key targets, one emulation movement, one nationwide campaign, three breakthrough priorities, five major tasks, and groups of implementation measures, demonstrating a strong political commitment to renewing the content and methods of Union activities to meet the country's development requirements in the new era.
Building a strong Women's Union Organization to meet new development requirements
One of the Congress's key agenda items was personnel work. In a spirit of democracy and responsibility, delegates elected the 14th Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.
At its first meeting, the 14th Central Executive Committee elected the Standing Committee of the Central Women's Union comprising 24 members; elected the President and three Vice Presidents of the Central Women's Union; and elected 11 members of the Central Inspection Committee as well as its Chairperson in accordance with regulations. The election results received broad consensus and confidence, ensuring continuity, stability, renewal, and development for the organization in the new term.
