Assessing the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Venezuela, Ambassador Vu Trung My provided extensive information on the positive outcomes of the official visit to Venezuela in June 2026 by Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung. He emphasized that, through high-level meetings and talks, the two sides had reached a number of important common understandings, notably their agreement to adopt a bilateral agenda. This is regarded as an important framework and guiding document for the two countries to further promote and expand cooperation across various fields in the coming period.
Also during the live broadcast, while sharing his thoughts on the losses suffered by local people, Ambassador Vu Trung My spoke about the profound significance of Vietnam’s deployment of a search-and-rescue team to Venezuela to assist in overcoming the consequences of the recent double earthquake disaster. The Ambassador affirmed that the timely presence of Vietnamese rescue forces at the disaster’s epicenter not only demonstrated Vietnam’s responsibility toward the international community, but also provided the most vivid testament to the solidarity, mutual support, and spirit of standing side by side during the most difficult times between the peoples of the two countries.
The live interview on Globovision contributed significantly to spreading the image of a peaceful, innovative Vietnam that values solidarity and human bonds to a broad television audience in Venezuela.

In his opening remarks, Vietnamese studies scholar and PhD Carolus Wimmer, Chairman of the Venezuela–Vietnam Friendship House, respectfully extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Party, State and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2026) and National Day on September 2. He described these occasions as glorious historical milestones marking a great turning point that ushered the Vietnamese nation into an era of independence, freedom and socialism.
As a long-time researcher with close ties to Vietnam who has visited the country many times, Dr. Carolus Wimmer expressed particular respect when discussing the roots of the Vietnamese people’s remarkable achievements. He emphasized that President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology and the talented and visionary leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam were the decisive factors behind every victory throughout the glorious 96-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 81 years since President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Having directly witnessed the remarkable achievements of Vietnam’s renewal process, which he has always respectfully described as the “Vietnamese miracle,” Dr. Carolus Wimmer expressed his confidence that, by upholding the resilient spirit of the Vietnamese people with their thousand-year civilization, the 81-year journey since the birth of modern Vietnam, the cause of renewal, and, in particular, the 14th National Party Congress, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary and President To Lam, Vietnam is firmly entering the “era of national rise” and will certainly achieve even greater accomplishments on the path toward building socialism.
Speaking at the ceremony, Venezuelan scholars and researchers offered their highest praise for the great revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people. In her presentation entitled “The unbreakable thread of sacrifice and solidarity,” researcher Joselym Baez highlighted the epochal significance of the August Revolution of 1945, affirming that it was an epic written through the Vietnamese people’s indomitable struggle for independence and freedom.
Sharing the same view, Dr. Anahis Lopez, Director of the Institute for Asia-Pacific Studies, and Dr. Arianna Guerrero, Head of the Research Group on Ho Chi Minh Thought at the University of International Communication (UICOM), emphasized the profound stature of Ho Chi Minh Thought. In particular, Dr. Anahis Lopez offered an insightful perspective, affirming: “Vietnam is not only a shining beacon that guided nations in their struggles for liberation and national reunification in the past; today, the country continues to be a beacon and a brilliant symbol that inspires the world with its strong development, always closely linked to social progress and justice.”
The President of the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House expressed confidence that the election will usher in a new, dynamic, and effective term of the National Assembly, building upon and further advancing the achievements already attained. |
