9 Vietnamese Students Receive Full Scholarships from Fast Retailing Foundation in Japan
	“Encountering the Japanese Language in My Youth Was the Greatest Blessing of My Life”

In line with its operational orientation, VJCE will serve as a focal point for implementing bilateral cooperation programs in education and culture, while connecting educational institutions, businesses, organizations, and communities through Japanese language training, study-abroad consulting, academic exchanges, and people-to-people exchange activities.

Speaking at the event, VJCE Director Le Thuong announced that the center will collaborate with the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and Japanese partners to launch a free Japanese language program for students from Grade 3 to Grade 9.

In addition, VJCE will organize the Japanese language talent search competition for Vietnamese children to encourage young learners to study Japanese from an early age. The center will also facilitate partnerships between Vietnamese primary, secondary, and higher education institutions and their Japanese counterparts to organize exchange programs, short-term study opportunities, and create favorable conditions for teachers to participate in scholarship programs funded by the Japanese Government.

Addressing the event, Ha Ngoc Anh, Director of the Institute of Technology Application and Educational Development, emphasized that the establishment of VJCE's representative office is significant in strengthening educational cooperation between the two countries, noting that education has consistently been one of the most effective areas of collaboration in Vietnam-Japan relations.

As Vietnam accelerates education reform in line with Politburo Resolution No. 71, Japan's experience in human resource development, digital transformation, artificial intelligence applications, and innovation will provide valuable lessons for both sides to share and build upon through cooperation.

Commending VJCE's decision to open a representative office in Hanoi, Vu Thi Lien Huong, First Secretary and Head of the Education Section at the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan, described the move as an important milestone in establishing a direct bridge between educational institutions, businesses, and organizations in the two countries.

She particularly acknowledged the center's initiatives, including the Japanese language talent search competition for Vietnamese children, free Japanese language classes, and plans to develop a Japanese language proficiency assessment system tailored to students.

According to her, these initiatives not only nurture an appreciation for the Japanese language and culture but also help cultivate an international mindset among the younger generation.

The representative of the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan also reaffirmed the Embassy's commitment to continuing to connect educational institutions, businesses, and organizations from both countries to advance cooperative initiatives, improve the quality of education, and further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World between Vietnam and Japan.

Speaking at the event, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh underscored that exchanges between the peoples of Vietnam and Japan have a history spanning more than 400 years.

He expressed his delight that around 700,000 Vietnamese are currently studying and working in Japan, describing them as an important source of human capital that can acquire knowledge, technology, and management expertise and contribute to Vietnam's future development.

As part of the program, a Vietnam-Japan Education Cooperation Forum was held with the participation of government agencies, educational institutions, businesses, and educational organizations from both countries.

Participants discussed the current state of Japanese language education in Vietnam and agreed to strengthen cooperation in education and training, cultural exchanges, and human resource development.

On this occasion, Vietnamese and Japanese organizations signed several memoranda of understanding and officially launched the Japanese language talent search competition for Vietnamese children, to create more opportunities for learning and international exchange for the younger generation.
