Voters Nationwide Enthusiastically Cast Ballots for 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at All Levels

According to data from the National Election Council, nearly 79 million voters are exercising their rights and responsibilities as citizens in this year’s election. In many localities, voters arrived at polling stations early in the morning to review the list of candidates, learn more about them, and follow the prescribed voting procedures.

Several areas organized early voting in accordance with legal provisions due to their particular local conditions, such as border regions, island areas, or locations where armed forces are on duty.

According to the official list, from 864 candidates, voters nationwide will elect 500 deputies to the 16th National Assembly, representing a ratio of 1.73 candidates for each elected deputy. For provincial-level People’s Councils, voters will elect 2,552 deputies from a pool of 4,217 candidates. At the commune level, from 120,873 candidates, voters will select 72,611 deputies, in accordance with legal regulations.

The election atmosphere has been solemn and vibrant in many localities, with the active participation of large numbers of voters. Polling stations have been organized in a serious manner, ensuring proper procedures and the principle of secret ballots.

At the same time, relevant authorities have developed and implemented plans to ensure political security and social order and safety, remaining ready to handle any emerging situations to guarantee that the election proceeds safely, democratically, and in accordance with the law.

Under regulations, voting for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and members of the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will conclude at 7:00 p.m. the same day. If necessary, voting may be extended, but not beyond 9:00 p.m.

With thorough preparations by authorities at all levels and sectors, along with the attention and active participation of voters nationwide, Election Day on March 15 is expected to proceed smoothly and truly become a major nationwide festival of the people.
