VUFO delegation joins activities marking DPRK’s Liberation Day
A delegation from the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) led by its President Vu Xuan Hong paid a working visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) from August 13th-18th to attend celebrations of the country’s 70th Liberation Day and the 50th founding anniversary of the Vietnam-DPRK and DPRK-Vietnam Friendship Associations.

On August 17th, VUFO President Vu Xuan Hong received by Chairperson of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Kim Jong Suk. During the reception, Chairperson Kim Jong Suk showed her happiness with the fine development in the friendship relationship between the two countries which was fostered by President Kim Il-sŏng and President Ho Chi Minh. She also appreciated activities held by the VUFO and the Vietnam-DPRK Friendship Association for reinforcing and developing the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
On this occasion, VUFO President Vu Xuan Hong was presented with the DPRK’s Friendship Order to honour his contributions to the friendship between the two countries’ peoples.
During the visit, VUFO delegation attended activities marking the DPRK’s 70th Liberation Day and the 50th founding anniversary of the Vietnam-DPRK and DPRK-Vietnam Friendship Associations while working with leaders of the DPRK-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea, during which the two sides discussed measures to boost their relations.
The delegation also visited some cultural and educational facilities in the DPRK./.
