Speaking at the reception, Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice President of VUFO, thanked FES for its contributions to Vietnam's development. Vietnam has achieved certain achievements in economic development and poverty reduction, in which the companionship and support of non-governmental organizations, including FES, play an important role.
Sharing information on restructuring and streamlining Vietnam's apparatus to reduce intermediate steps and improve effectiveness and efficiency, Nguyen Ngoc Hung affirmed that Vietnam maintains a consistent policy towards foreign non-governmental work. Vietnam encourages and creates favorable conditions for organizations to operate in development assistance and humanitarian aid.
Vice President of VUFO expressed his hope that FES will continue to accompany Vietnam, promoting cooperation in areas such as sharing experiences, developing technological and digital capacity. He also hopes that FES will contribute ideas to the 5th International Conference on Cooperation between Vietnam and Foreign NGOs, organized by the Committee for Foreign Non-governmental Organization Affairs, scheduled to take place in 2025.
Sabine Fandrych, member of the FES Executive Board in Berlin, expressed her delight at the speed of restructuring, streamlining the apparatus, and positive changes in Vietnam. FES highly appreciated VUFO's coordination and support and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining information exchange, strengthening cooperation, and continuing its activities in Vietnam in the coming time.
FES is Germany's oldest political foundation and one of the first international non-profit organizations operating in Vietnam. 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of FES's founding (1925-2025) and the 35th anniversary of its operation in Vietnam (1990-2025). |
