In HCMC, the performance will take place at Kurtz’s by Heart of Darkness bar (No.97 Hanoi Highway in District 2) on November 27. In Hanoi, it will be held on November 28 at the Standing Bar (No.170 Tran Vu str, Tay Ho district). The two shows will also feature Joe Zalias, a firefighter and professional stand-up comedian from the UK.
Although Lynn Ruth Miller was a natural performer as a kid, her route into comedy has been circuitous. According to Inews, she got a masters degree in journalism from Stanford University at the age of 30 and set out to become a crusading reporter with a byline in the New York Times.
In her life, Miller has taken a few knocks of her own. She divorced twice and once lost her San Francisco home in the recent financial crisis.
In 2003, at the age of 69, she decided to enrol at a comedy college in San Francisco. The course exposed her talent and she’s been telling gags ever since. She has won top prizes at several comedy festivals such as the Branson Comedy Festival, the Brighton Fringe Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the Bristol Burlesque Festival.
