Activities held in Mozambique to mark Vietnam People’s Army Day
(VNF) - The 73rd anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22) was recently celebrated in Maputo city, capital of Mozambique by the Vietnamese Embassy in the country.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Nguyen Van Trung and representatives of Vietnam Embassy in Mozambique present gifts to Movitel workers.
The event, held on December 14 and 15, was attended by officers, staff of Movitel, Vietnamese experts in medication, education, agriculture and the Vietnamese association in Mozambique.
The programme included meetings with military, defense personnels who are working for Movitel, the joint venture of Viettel in Mozambique and exchange activities between the Vietnamese community and Movitel's staff.
The main purpose of the celebration was to honor the "Uncle Ho's soldiers" who are fulfilling their tasks in the field of economics in the friend country, Mozambique.
Furthermore, it helped tighten solidarity among the overseas Vietnamese in Mozambique and consolidate the friendship and cooperation between Vietnamese and Mozambican people.
On the occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Nguyen Van Trung also sent a greeting letter to officials and workers of Movitel and gifts to those working in remote areas of Mozambique.
Movitel, the first joint venture of Viettel in Africa, started operation in May 2012. Nowadays, it has grown into the largest mobile operator in Mozambique with 4 million customers, accounting for 38% market share.
Movitel has so far created nearly 20,000 jobs for people in rural areas of Mozambique./.
