Those activities include the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Youth Academy and the Russian Herzen University; seminars on youth cooperation, and a visit to the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant.

The Vietnam-Russia Youth Forum 2021 is being held both online and offline by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, and embassies of the two countries from Nov. 24 to 26.

The events aim to implement the cooperation agreement for the 2019-2022 period between the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam and the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the 2021 plan of external activities of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.

The forum held in Vietnam welcomed Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and Standing Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam, leaders of Youth Union unites, 10 Vietnamese and 6 Russian young delegates.

The events held in Moscow was attended by Andrey Ivanovich Platonov, Vice President of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. In St. Petersburg, it welcomed the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Evgeny Dmitrievich Grigoriev, Chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for Youth Policy and Social Organizations Interaction Bogdan Georgievich Zastavny, 20 Russian and 20 Vietnamese young delegates.

Vietnam Embassy to Russia also hosted the forum, which was attended by Ly Tien Hung, First Secretary, department of economics, science and education under the Vietnam Embassy to Russia.

Nguyen Ngoc Luong highlighted the traditional friendship which had lasted for over 71 years between Vietnam and Russia. Throughout history, the cooperation between the young generations of the two countries has brought practical benefits, contributed to the friendship between the two peoples.

"In the past 3 years, though facing the pandemic, we have overcome difficulties and gained success in holding a series of exchange activities, such as the Vietnam - Russia Youth Forum in Vietnam and in Russia in 2019, the Vietnam - Russia Youth Friendship Exchange Program in Vietnam in 2020. The positive results are achieved thanks to the enthusiasm and creativity of the young generations of the two countries", Luong said.

He also wished that the young delegates of the two countries continue to build friendship bridges, make positive and responsible contributions to bring the development of cooperation between the youth and people of Vietnam and Russia to a new height, which benefits both countries, towards peace and development of the region and the world.

Within the forum's framework, a cooperation agreement was signed virtually between the Vietnam Youth Academy and the Russian Herzen University. The agreement's content was consented to at the Russia - Vietnam Youth Forum in 2019. It includes exchange activities of lecturers and students, educational activities at the university level, professional degrees and master's degrees training, training for postgraduate lecturers, conferences, Russian language courses.

Young delegates at the forum held seminars on "Vietnamese-Russian Youth Strengthen Cooperation and Promote Green Tourism" and "Vietnamese-Russian Youth Volunteer to Fight Covid-19 for Social Security."

In-person activities in Vietnam take place in Hoa Binh province. Delegates will visit the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, which was built and operated thanks to the support from the Soviet Union and Russian Federation. They will also visit tourist destinations, learn about local culture, visit the community tourism model of Giang A La (Pa Co commune, Mai Chau district) an outstanding young entrepreneur in Hoa Binh.
