According to An Giang Online Newspaper, To Van Dan, Standing Vice President of the An Giang Union of Friendship Organizations, said that people-to-people diplomacy in the province has always received close attention, leadership, and unified management from the Provincial Party Committee and the People’s Committee. Activities promoting peace, solidarity, friendship, and cooperation among peoples have been regularly maintained in diverse and meaningful forms. The Union and its member friendship associations proactively send congratulatory letters on the anniversaries of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and other countries, expressing friendship, respect, and the desire to further strengthen cooperation.

Mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid, along with support from domestic organizations and individuals, has been effectively implemented, helping address many urgent local issues. In the first nine months of 2025, the Union mobilized and disbursed more than VND 7.6 billion, reaching 63% of the annual plan. In addition, the member friendship associations recorded over VND 15.5 billion in support for social welfare activities, contributing to improving people’s living conditions.

A highlight of the Union’s work has been its external communication activities. The Union’s official website has been regularly maintained and updated, publishing nearly 250 news articles and reports in the first nine months of 2025, vividly reflecting international exchange and cooperation activities. The “People-to-People Diplomacy” section on An Giang Newspaper and An Giang Radio & Television is broadcast monthly, featuring in-depth stories and reports that help spread the image of a friendly and hospitable An Giang. The Union is also preparing to publish 200 copies of the special issue “Friendship and Cooperation” (No. 1, 2025) to highlight and share the province’s outstanding achievements in people-to-people diplomacy over the past year.

In the coming time, the Union will continue to maintain diplomatic protocol activities, such as sending congratulatory letters to Consulates General in Ho Chi Minh City on major national holidays. It will also strengthen cooperation with foreign diplomatic missions to promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation. The Union aims to accelerate the disbursement of committed aid funds, strive to fulfill and surpass the annual targets, and coordinate with localities to complete and hand over aid-funded projects for early use. At the same time, it will continue surveying local needs and developing practical, feasible project proposals to attract sponsorship from organizations and individuals both domestically and internationally.

In addition, the Union will coordinate with relevant agencies and member associations to gather information on overseas Vietnamese returning home for the Lunar New Year, and will advise on organizing a “Spring Reunion for Overseas Vietnamese - Year of the Horse 2026” event. This will serve as an opportunity to strengthen emotional ties, receive the sentiments and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese, and create favorable conditions for them to contribute their knowledge and resources to the province’s development, while continuing to promote the image of a dynamic and compassionate An Giang to international friends.
