At the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Khac Dong, Political Commissar of the Technical and Logistics Support Center, presented the decision to hand over the “Comrade’s House” to the family of Professional Lieutenant Nguyen Trung Kien, a driver at the Technical and Logistics Support Center (Naval Region 5 Command).

The 40-square-meter level-4 house was built on the family’s land, with a total cost of over VND 200 million. Of this, VND 60 million was provided by the Ministry of National Defense's "For the Poor" Fund, while the remainder came from the family's savings and support from relatives.

Previously, Nguyen Trung Kien’s family had lived in a cramped, damp rental room. “During heavy rains, the roof would leak. My husband was stationed far away, and I could only hold our child tight in a corner. Now, with a roof over our heads to shield us from sun and rain, it feels like our family has turned a new page,” said Tang Nhat Minh, Kien’s wife.

According to Lieutenant Nguyen Trung Kien’s family, from the groundbreaking to completion, the project was closely supported and supervised by the unit, as if it were a collective mission. His comrades frequently came to help transport materials, level the ground, and install the roof. The house was not only built with financial resources but also with deep bonds of brotherhood.

At the ceremony, the Naval Region 5 Command and the Technical and Logistics Support Center also presented Kien’s family with practical gifts, including household items and school supplies for the children.

Speaking at the event, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Khac Dong said: “Supporting the construction of ‘Comrade’s Houses’ carries not only deep political and social significance but also demonstrates the care and responsibility of leadership at all levels toward officers and soldiers facing housing difficulties. Following this policy, many new homes have been built across Naval Region 5. We hope these houses will help our comrades and their families stabilize their lives, feel secure in their service, and remain committed to the unit in the long run.”
