(VNF) - The Ba Na Hills Golf Club has been awarded ‘Best New Golf Course in Asia Pacific’ and ‘Best Golf Course in Vietnam – the first Runner Up’ at the 2016 Asian Golf Awards.

The results were announced at the 2016 Asian Golf Awards Gala Award Presentation Ceremony in the Royal City of Hua Hin, Thailand on October 30^th.

The awards by the Asia Pacific Golf Group (APGG), a communication group specialising in golf, are as prestigious in the golf industry as the Oscars is in cinema. Every year, APGG recognises and gives 48 awards for excellent golf courses and to inpiduals involved in the industry through online votes in the region.

Ba Na Hills Golf Club is located on the road of Ba Na - Suoi Mo, next to Ba Na Hills Mountain Resort, and only 25 minutes from Danang. On an area of 165 hectares, in the first phase, the golf course has 18 holes, designed by the world's No. 1 golfer Luke Donald, who is known for his laser-like accurate strokes.

The Course is a mountain course with a perse mix of natural topography and vegetation. On the most beautiful natural terrain of the mountainous Ba Na area, Ba Na Hills Golf Club has the first nine rounds running along trees, sand bunkers and the other nine rounds twisting over the hillsides.

Each golfer at all levels has the opportunity to conquer the challenges of the 72 standard strokes and the total distance of 7,595 yards (equivalent to 6945 meters).

In particular, at Ba Na Hills Golf Club, golfers can open or end the game at any time, whether day or night thanks to the lighting system up to international standards.

The Da Nang-based golf course is already among the most favourite golf sites in central Vietnam along with Greg Norman’s Da Nang Golf Club and Nick Faldo’s Laguna Lang Co in Thua Thien-Hue and Montgomerie Links in Quang Nam Province.

The Ba Na Hills GC is managed by IMG and owned by Sun Group, one of the leading property investors in Vietnam.

In 2012, the Montgomerie Links golf course was included in the Forbes Travel Guide list of Asia’s 10 Most Elite Golf Courses and was named Vietnam’s best course./.
