Cambodia Honors Vietnamese Heroes with Special House

Military Region 5 of the Royal Cambodian Army, and the Search Squad, unloaded and repatriated the remains of martyrs (K73) in coordination with Metfone Corporation and the Cambodian branch of MB Bank held a groundbreaking ceremony for the building of a home to preserve the remains of Vietnamese martyrs and volunteers who gave their lives during the war in Cambodia. The ceremony took place on July 13, 2022 in Battambang province, Cambodia.

At the ceremony, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang emphasized the great sacrifices made by Vietnamese martyrs, volunteers, and experts in exchange for the revival of the Cambodian people from the catastrophe of Polpot's genocidal regime.

The leaders of Military Zone 5, the Royal Cambodian Army paid tribute to those great sacrifices, using the area of ​​the military sub-region of Battambang province to build the Remains Preservation House.

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang assessed and acknowledged the noble gesture of Metfone Cambodia Corporation and the Cambodian branch of MB Bank for funding this project.

Up to now, the militaries of the two countries have formed 11 teams to search, remove and repatriate the remains of Vietnamese martyrs, volunteers, and experts and to bring them back home. The remains of martyrs need to be preserved solemnly before they can be returned to Vietnam.

The construction of this memorial house and preservation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteers and experts not only shows the gratitude spirit of the leaders and employees of the Metfone Corporation, the Cambodia branch of MB Bank, and the Royal Cambodian army, but it is also a practical activity on the occasion of Vietnam-Cambodia celebrating 55 years of establishing foreign relations.
