According to the Cao Bang Provincial Portal, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cao Bang Province allocated more than VND 57.809 billion from the fund to assist poor households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged people across the province.

The funding was primarily used to implement the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for poor households. This included support for replacing 450 temporary and dilapidated houses in 53 communes with a total budget of VND 36 billion provided by the Ministry of National Defence. In addition, VND 3 billion was allocated while further resources were mobilized from other sponsors to build Great Solidarity Houses.

Notably, during the 2026 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cao Bang Province mobilized more than VND 22.8 billion to provide Tet support for local residents. Using these funds, the province organized visits and distributed 32,898 gift packages to poor and near-poor households, policy beneficiary families, social protection recipients, hospitalized patients, disadvantaged students, and grassroots-level personnel, with a total value of VND 16.98 billion.

In addition, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cao Bang Province allocated VND 1 billion from the provincial “For the Poor” Fund to support the regular operations of 20 communes. It also presented 295 gift packages to disadvantaged elderly people on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Elderly People, and provided assistance to poor students, students from near-poor households, and five students facing exceptionally difficult circumstances through the Fulfilling Dreams program.

During the first six months of the year, disaster relief and recovery efforts were also carried out promptly. The provincial Relief Fund received VND 2.22 billion and allocated VND 880 million to assist households whose homes had collapsed or been swept away by floods, while also supporting the restoration of damaged community infrastructure.

Furthermore, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cao Bang Province coordinated the implementation of several practical social welfare initiatives, including the “Viet Hung-Cao Bang compassion bridge program” worth VND 410 million. It also distributed 400 gift packages to poor and near-poor households in Thanh Cong and Son Lo communes, and donated 125 cartons of milk to disadvantaged students in Ca Thanh and Thanh Cong communes, as well as to the Provincial Social Protection Centre.

The more than VND 64 billion received to support poor and near-poor households, along with other disadvantaged groups across the province, has helped improve people's livelihoods, assist vulnerable groups, enhance the effectiveness of social welfare efforts, and strengthen the great national unity bloc in Cao Bang Province.
