The Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai province on November 12 organized a cultural exchange program between the Union of Friendship Organizations of the Southeast Region with Consulates General of countries in Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the program were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung; Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Cao Van Quang; Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Hong Trang and Consul Generals and Consulates of Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and China in HCM City.

Deputy Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung sent greetings to leaders of Union of Friendship Organizations of provinces and cities: Ben Tre, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An, Tay Ninh, Tien Giang, HCM City and General Consulates, Consulates of countries in HCM City attending the program.

Hung emphasized that Dong Nai is very pleased to be the first locality to host the Expanded Southeast Region Friendship Melodies Festival. It is even more meaningful that this is the first regional program of the province to implement the Prime Minister's Decision on the Cultural Diplomacy Strategy till 2030 in the province.

The festival is an annual art and culture exchange activity for amateur artists who are members of Friendship Associations and Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, to honor and spread the values ​​of art and culture, peace and friendship, in order to introduce to international friends about Vietnamese culture, country, and people, as well as promote other countries' cultures to people.

At the same time, creating a common playground for associations enhances cultural diplomacy activities, contributes to enhancing understanding, and consolidates the solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese people and international friends.

Also according to Deputy Chairman Hung, the development of friendly relations with countries around the world has always been focused by provincial leaders.

At present, Dong Nai has established and signed 37 Memorandums of Understanding and agreements on international cooperation at the provincial level for the first time and re-signed 13 agreements on international cooperation at the provincial level with localities and foreign partners in 12 countries in the world. There are 42 countries and territories investing in Dong Nai with over 1.500 projects with a capital of more than USD 33 billion.

On this occasion, the Union of Friendship Organizations of the Southeast Provinces have performed selected performances from the 2022 Expanded Southeast Friendship Melody Festival took place on November 11.

Participants enjoyed art performances by Vietnamese artists, students and Consulates’ staff.

At the same time, the organizers awarded to the units participating in the festival. In which, the teams of Dong Nai province and HCM City won the first prize; Binh Duong province's team won second prize; two provinces of Ben Tre and Tay Ninh' teams received the third prize and teams of Long An and Tien Giang received the fourth place.

At the same time, the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations also awarded prizes to the member associations participating in the 2022 Dong Nai Friendship Melodies Festival, of which the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association triumphed.
