According to the plan, in 2026, the Association will organize a series of exchange activities to enhance cooperation in culture, education, and social welfare, thereby contributing to the consolidation of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
Highlights include the celebration of the Bunpimay New Year Festival; the “Lao Oratory Contest 2026” for Vietnamese residents and students in Da Nang and neighboring localities; and a homestay program for Lao students studying at universities in the city. As part of this program, Lao students will join outdoor activities and visit the Lower Laos Resistance Zone and the Southern Central Border Office - national historical sites located in Chien Dan commune.
The Association also plans student exchange events between Lao and Vietnamese youth to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts assisting the Lao Revolution (October 30, 1949 – October 30, 2026). In addition, the “Second Mother” model will be implemented to provide sponsorship and support for Lao students in Da Nang.
In the field of social welfare, the Association will coordinate medical examinations, treatment, and gift-giving programs for disadvantaged communities in southern Lao provinces, particularly in border areas adjacent to Da Nang.
Furthermore, two delegations are scheduled to visit Laos in 2026. These delegations will meet with localities twinned with Da Nang, revisit former battlefields of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts, and work with the Laos–Vietnam Friendship Association of Sekong province.
Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee, Tran Anh Tuan, requested the Association to promptly finalize its 2026 activity plan, assign specific tasks, review the budget, and strengthen coordination with the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang to ensure effective implementation.
On this occasion, the conference also announced Decision No. 03/QD-LH dated March 13, 2026, recognizing the Executive Committee of the Vietnam–Laos Friendship Association of Da Nang City for the 2024–2029 term, following the merger.
