At the meeting, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An Province Vo Trong Hai affirmed that the province would direct its relevant agencies to work closely with the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association to ensure the successful organization of the commemorative activities. The provincial People's Committee has assigned the Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs to serve as the focal agency for developing the implementation plan.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of Nghe An's provincial leadership and voiced confidence that thorough preparations would contribute to the successful organization of the commemorative activities, thereby further promoting people-to-people exchanges and strengthening the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The selection of Nghe An as the venue for the commemorative activities is rooted in both historical significance and practical cooperation. As the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, Nghe An has a special connection with Thailand, where he carried out revolutionary activities during 1928-1929 and fostered the patriotic movement within the Vietnamese community. Today, the system of President Ho Chi Minh memorial sites in Thailand and the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site continue to serve as important venues for fostering people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Nghe An also maintains dynamic cooperative relations with Thai partners. Located along the East-West Economic Corridor, the province serves as a gateway connecting trade between Vietnam's North Central region and the central and northeastern provinces of Thailand through a network of national highways and international border gates. It has established and maintained strong friendly cooperative ties with Nakhon Phanom Province and several other provinces in northeastern Thailand.

In recent years, people-to-people diplomacy between Nghe An and Thailand has achieved positive results. The Nghe An Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association has regularly organized people-to-people exchange activities, business networking events, Thai language classes, and maintained close ties with the Vietnamese community in Thailand, contributing to enhanced mutual understanding, trust, and a favorable social foundation for bilateral cooperation.

Through the series of commemorative activities, the participating parties hope to build upon the cooperative foundations established over the past five decades while further promoting people-to-people exchanges, strengthening connections among localities and businesses, and expanding cooperation in culture, tourism, trade, and investment between Vietnam and Thailand.
