They encouraged the prisoners to display good conduct so they can soon be reunited with their families and reintegrate into society.
The embassy staff also spent more than two hours fielding a number of questions relating to the host country’s legal procedures, the application for a lost passport, and the procedures for returning home following their imprisonment.
They promised to do all the best within their authority to support the prisoners’ family members.
Later on, the embassy staff visited Doan Thi Huong – a suspect in the February 2017 murder of the holder of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea passport named Kim Chol, who is separately detained at the Kajang prison in Selangor – to inform her about the upcoming trial and encourage her to keep hold of her health and stay optimistic.
More than 50 Vietnamese women are being detained at the Kajang prison.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia has a history of exerting extended efforts to protect Vietnamese citizens and ensure their legitimate rights.
