Marco Schlueter, Managing Director of Strategy and International Affairs of Naturland said that European consumers in particular, and the world in general, increasingly prioritize organic products and organic standards.
Out of a total of 330 additives allowed by the EU food law, only 47 are allowed in organic foods. Meanwhile, Naturland only allows 22 substances. Applying organic standards of the European Union (EU) and Naturland can bring many benefits. It will help Vietnam improve its food quality system, providing consumers with safe and delicious agricultural products. For "made in Vietnam" organic products that want to make into demanding foreign markets, Naturland certification serves as a necessary and sufficient condition in addition to certification from the European Union (EU).
Marco Schlueter, also encouraged consumers to choose organic products, adding that their choice will bring benefits to the farmers in sustainable agricultural systems. For example, Naturland certified farmers will have safe and favorable working conditions in fair contract, equal treatment, wages and working hours, social benefits and even higher education.
| Established in 1982, Naturland is considered one of pioneers in establishing organic agriculture in Germany and is the foundation for the current EU organic certification standards. Naturland currently has 125,000 organic farmers in 60 countries, from the fields of agriculture, aquaculture, beekeeping as well as forestry. Its work also includes collaboration with processing, trade and culinary partners . In Germany, there are 4,500 Naturland organic farms, occupying more than 270,000 hectares. |
