Accordingly, the fishing boat numebered BD 96388 TS and owned by Le Van Minh from Binh Dinh’s Hoai Nhon District left the province for fishing on October 5.

At around 1:00 pm October 27, the boat sank while it was about 143.5 nautical miles (265.7 km) offshore in Khanh Hoa’s Cam Ranh Bay area.

Just half an hour later, another fishing boat was found near the fishing boat BD 96388 TS. The 12 fishermen were, however, not seen on the vessel.

All boats and ships operating in the area were dispatched for search by Khanh Hoa authorities.

On October 27 afternoon, the fishing boat BD 97469 capsized while its was 172 nautical miles (318.5 km) east of Khanh Hoa’s Hon Tre Island.

All 14 fishermen onboard the BD 97469 lost contact with the mainland. Their families have requested rescue.

The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Zone 4 was reportedly tried to contact the two fishing boats but in vain, as reported by VnExplorer.

According to BangKok Post, the typhoon Molave, packing winds of up to 135 kilometres per hour, made landfall around midday having caused two deaths and left dozens missing as it approached.

The military prepared helicopters and amphibious vehicles and deployed or placed on standby 250,000 soldiers in preparation for what humanitarian groups anticipated could be a challenging aftermath.
