The Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association (VJFA), the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam held a ceremony to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries September 21, 1973 - 2018) in Hanoi on September 18.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnam’s government, VJFA President To Huy Rua hightlighted the comprehensivediplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan and wishing the Japan-Vietnam friendship festival successfully held. This event plays a meaningful part in various activities being held in both countries, he added.

Rua expressed his belief that, with the strong relationship development which is based on the political trust and the determination and efforts of both sides, the Vietnam- Japan will continue to reach a new heights that benefited to the people of both countries and contribute positively to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Looking back 45 years since the diplomatic relations established, with the determination and unceasing efforts of the people of both countries, the friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan have developed strongly and comprehensively. In particular, it can be said that people's exchanges are one of factors that play a vital role in developing the relationship between Vietnam and Japan more widely, persely and effectively.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio highlighted the significance of the activities organised during the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year 2018.

The ambassador believes in the bright future of friendship between Japan and Vietnam will grow to new heights, contributing to peace and stability in the region and the world./.
