Friendship Association of Dong Thap Works to Open up Vietnam-RoK Cooperation Opportunities

The Vietnam - Republic of Korea (RoK) Friendship Association of Dong Thap province held its second congress, the 2023 - 2028 term. In the term 2023 - 2028, the Association has identified three key tasks such as attracting more members, connecting Vietnamese - Korean businesses, and promoting student exchanges.
The report at the congress said that in the last term, the association welcomed 12 delegations of Korean non-governmental organization (NGOs) and businesses to exchange, learn about the locality and conduct charity activities.
The delegation of Yeoncheon district visited and signed a memorandum of understanding with the province to bring Dong Thap workers to work in Yeoncheon district, Gyeonggi-do province; coordinating in implementing study and internship programs at Korean enterprises and cooperating in the fields of agriculture and cultural exchange, among others.
Since 2016-2019, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and Friendship Association has cooperated with Habitat and Beautiful Mind Charity to build houses for the poor, providing scholarships and free medical examination and treatment, donating wheelchairs, baby strollers to the needy. The total value of foreign non-governmental aid mobilization from organizations and individuals from Korea is more than VND 5.7 billion (USD 242.700).
In the new term, the association identified a number of key tasks such as attracting more members; acting as a bridge between Dong Thap businesses and Korean businesses and investors; organizing activities to connect and exchange between local students and Korean students.
The congress elected the Executive Committee of the provincial Vietnam - RoK Friendship Association with 18 members and an Inspection Committee consisting of three members.
Nguyen Phuoc Thien, vice chairman of the Provincial People's Committee was elected to hold the position of president of the provincial Vietnam - RoK Friendship Association for the 2023-2028 term.
