The visit will be made at the invitation of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and his spouse.

At the talks between the two leaders in Ha Noi in April last year on the occasion of the Chinese leader's state visit to Viet Nam, To said the Vietnamese Party and State believe in and support Xi's continued leadership in steering China toward sustained development and achieving its second centenary goal, while playing an increasingly important role in promoting peace, cooperation, and development in the region and around the world.

As comrades and brothers, China and Viet Nam stand united and cooperate closely on the path of socialist modernisation in each country, moving forward together, striving for the happiness of their peoples, and contributing more to human progress, Xi affirmed.

On January 18, 1950, China became the first country to establish diplomatic relations with the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam.

Over the past 76 years, Viet Nam-China relations have developed deeply in all fields, from politics and economy to culture, security and defense. High-level exchanges and meetings are maintained regularly in many flexible forms.

In 2008, Viet Nam and China established a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, the highest and the most comprehensive diplomatic relations of both sides.

According to Vietnamese data, bilateral trade reached US$256 billion in 2025, up 24.7 per cent year on year, with exports to China at US$70.4 billion and imports at US$186 billion, making China the biggest trade partner of Viet Nam.

People-to-people exchange has long served as a vital bridge between Viet Nam and China, forming a strong social foundation for building trust, fostering cooperation, and maintaining peace.

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2025, the two Parties and Governments have jointly designated the year as the "Year of Viet Nam-China Humanistic Exchange," reflecting a shared strategic vision to promote sustainable bilateral relations rooted in public engagement./.
