Germany’s Hessen State to Cooperate to Develop International Financial Center in Vietnam

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to and wishes to further promote its fine Strategic Partnership with Germany in general and its cooperation with Hessen in particular. In recent years, the Strategic Partnership between the two countries has developed positively and comprehensively across multiple fields, including politics, economy, education, and science and technology.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh expressed his hope that both sides would further strengthen cooperation in building and developing an international financial center. He also encouraged enhanced collaboration in labor and employment, noting that Germany has a high demand for healthcare, medical, and technical workers - areas in which Vietnam is well-positioned to meet the needs.
He also thanked the Hessen Symphony Orchestra for successfully performing in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Timon Gremmels shared similar views on the strong cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, emphasizing that the Vietnam-Germany University (VGU) stands out as a key highlight and an important joint project between the two countries.
Given Vietnam’s need to build and develop an international financial center, the Federal Republic of Germany, and Hessen State in particular, have provided concrete cooperation and support.
The Vietnam-Germany University has trained two cohorts in international finance and plans to continue offering future courses. The program maintains high training quality thanks to instruction by leading financial experts from Germany, particularly from Hessen.
Expressing appreciation to Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh for taking the time to meet, Minister Timon Gremmels affirmed that Hessen is always ready to cooperate with and support Vietnam in promoting the establishment and development of international financial centers in the country, especially in the fields of training, consultancy, promotion, and investment attraction. He also noted that Hessen would help introduce and encourage German investors to explore opportunities in Vietnam’s international financial centers.
Minister Timon Gremmels added that many German enterprises and investors consider Vietnam an attractive destination with great potential, opportunities, and advantages for cooperation. He expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Government would continue to create favorable conditions for German investors to establish long-term, effective partnerships for the mutual benefit and shared development of both sides.
