Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung on May 18 signed an urgent document directing the strengthening of anti-pandemic measures after the city recorded a Covid-19 community transmission, Zing News reported.
Accordingly, Hai Phong people have been requested not to go out between 10 p.m and 5 a.m if not necessary. The gatherings of more than 10 people in public spaces, except offices, schools and hospitals have been prohibited.
Hai Phong Chairman has also required to ramp up the patrol and supervision as well as strictly handle those breaching the regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.
Anyone with symptoms such as cough, fever, difficulty breathing or respiratory infections must contact the nearest medical facilities for support.

Pharmacies must make a list of customers with the abovementioned symptoms and report to medical facilities.
Food and beverage shops have been ordered to cease serving customers on the spot and only sell take-away goods.
The city has also suspended bus service. Taxis are allowed to operate with 50% of their seats.
Weddings are not allowed to organize, while, funerals must limit the number of participants and ensure safety protocols.
The new Covid-19 case in Hai Phong is a 42-year-old woman, living in Hoang Van Thu ward, Hong Bang district. She is a teacher at Ngo Quyen High School.
She taught and invigilated exams at her schools and traveled many places before tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
Hai Phong City's Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has directed functional forces to seal off and disinfect areas related to this patient.
The source of infection has also been investigated.
Vietnam on Wednesday noon recorded 36 new local Covid-19 cases in Hanoi and six northern provinces.
Ten cases each were recorded in Hanoi and its neighbors Bac Giang and Bac Ninh, three in Hai Duong, and one each in Dien Bien, Thai Binh and Vinh Phuc
So far in the new wave, Vietnam has recorded 1,539 Covid-19 cases in 28 cities and provinces. Over 1.01 million people have been vaccinated against the disease.
