Hanoi hosts national youth Rowing and Canoeing Championships 2016
(VNF) - On July 12th, the national youth Rowing and Canoeing Championships 2016 opened at Hanoi Rowing and Canoeing Club, Xuan La ward, Tay Ho district.
As many as 367 competitors from 28 cities/provinces are participating in the two age groups, 15 - 18 and 19 - 22, as it was in the last two events. In which, 119 players from 14 delegations have registered to compete in Rowing.

Speaking at the event, Mr Nguyen Hai Duong, Secretary General of Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation (VCRSF), said that the two Vietnamese canoeists and rowers qualified for the Olympics 2016 in Brazil have strongly demonstrated the right track of the nation in this sports, thus creating an impetus for VCRSF to develop more in the future.
He expressed his hope to see such beautiful performances as well as best records of the athletes in the tour. The event contributes to checking the training quality for youth in localities, and seeking the best candidates for the national squad.
This year, the capital of Hanoi is a powerful candidate for the champion./.
