Twelve sites in the capital have officially received decisions recognizing them as historical-cultural relics and scenic sites. The classification was issued by the Hanoi People's Committee.

The city strictly prohibits all unauthorized construction, exploitation, and use activities within the boundaries of the recognized heritage sites and their designated protection zones. In special cases where land use or construction at a heritage site is necessary, approval must be obtained from the Hanoi People's Committee.

The list of the 12 newly recognized sites includes: Giang Chinh Communal House Historical-Cultural Relic, Chuong My Ward; Giang Le Communal House and Shrine Historical-Cultural Relic, Chuong My Ward; Nghia Lo Shrine Historical-Cultural Relic, Phuc Loc Commune; Nghia Lo Pagoda (Canh Linh Pagoda) Historical-Cultural Relic, Phuc Loc Commune; Kim Giang Pagoda (Nghiem Thang Pagoda) Historical-Cultural Relic, Ung Hoa Commune;

Kim Giang Communal House Historical-Cultural Relic, Ung Hoa Commune; Khanh Van Pagoda (Ai Van Pagoda) Historical-Cultural Relic, Ung Hoa Commune; Khanh Van Communal House Historical-Cultural Relic, Ung Hoa Commune; Chu Mat Communal House Historical-Artistic Relic, Vat Lai Commune; Chu Mat Pagoda (Que Son Pagoda) Historical-Cultural Relic, Vat Lai Commune; Thai Binh Communal House Historical-Cultural Relic, Vat Lai Commune; and Thai Binh Pagoda (Lam Phuc Pagoda) Historical-Cultural Relic, Vat Lai Commune.

Following their recognition, the People's Committees of Chuong My Ward, Phuc Loc Commune, Ung Hoa Commune, and Vat Lai Commune are responsible for publicly announcing the protected areas of the sites; preparing and implementing boundary marker documentation and installation in accordance with their authority and current legal regulations; issuing decisions to establish heritage site management boards; managing the site grounds and spaces, all artifacts associated with the sites, activities related to the protection and promotion of heritage values, and the use of revenues generated by the sites in accordance with regulations.

The localities where these newly recognized sites are located shall, within the scope of their duties and authority, carry out state management of the heritage sites in accordance with the law on cultural heritage.

Earlier this year, in March 2026, Hanoi Vice Chairwoman Vu Thu Ha signed a decision recognizing 37 city-level heritage sites located in the wards and communes of Hoang Liet, Minh Chau, Binh Minh, Ung Thien, Huong Son, Hong Son, Hoai Duc, Son Dong, An Khanh, My Duc, Hoa Xa, Duong Hoa, Ung Hoa, Ngoc Hoi, and Dai Thanh.
