According to the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, in her remarks at the gathering, Association President Truong Thi Hien recalled the historical significance of the Girón Victory and noted that Vietnam-Cuba relations, founded on shared revolutionary ideals, have become a special, loyal, pure, and rare friendship. She added that in recent years, the Association has played an active bridging role by organizing various exchange activities, traditional education programs, and humanitarian-charity initiatives, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening bonds between the two peoples. The Association will continue to innovate its content and methods of operation, expand its network of friends, and attract greater participation from younger generations.

Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes expressed appreciation for the support of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, including the “Sun Without Borders” program implemented by Ho Chi Minh City in 2025. The program helped install solar power systems for schools in Cuba, providing electricity for educational activities while also offering moral encouragement to the Cuban people during a challenging period.

The Ambassador emphasized that preserving and promoting the special tradition of solidarity between the two nations is the responsibility and duty of younger generations, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam-Cuba friendship.

On this occasion, Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, sent a message to the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, expressing gratitude and affirming continued efforts to consolidate and develop the special friendship between the two nations.

The gathering took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere. Cultural performances praising Vietnam-Cuba friendship, presented by Cuban artists and Vietnamese students, along with an exhibition showcasing the Association’s activities over the years and children’s paintings, vividly portrayed the enduring bond between the peoples of the two countries across generations.
