Ho Chi Minh City to Host Diverse Cultural Activities for National Day

At a press conference on socio-economic issues in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of August 20, a representative of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports provided information on activities to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2026) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945-September 2, 2026).

Accordingly, the city will organize an exhibition commemorating the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2026) and National Day on September 2 at three locations: Dong Khoi Street (Chi Lang Park; the section from Nguyen Du Street to Le Thanh Ton Street, Sai Gon Ward); Nguyen Du Street Park, Thu Dau Mot Ward; and the Traditional Revolutionary House (No. 1 Ba Cu Street, Vung Tau Ward).

The city will also hold wreath-laying ceremonies at cemeteries across the city, as well as incense- and flower-offering ceremonies in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang.

As part of the cultural and artistic activities, Ho Chi Minh City will organize an artistic program commemorating the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2026) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945-September 2, 2026) at three locations: the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street area (at the intersection with Huynh Thuc Khang Street), Sai Gon Ward; the outdoor stage at New City Central Park, Binh Duong Ward; and Ba Ria Square Park, Ba Ria Ward.

To commemorate the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the city will hold an artistic fireworks display from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at seven locations. Three of these will feature high-altitude fireworks combined with low-altitude fireworks: the area at the entrance to the Saigon River Tunnel, An Khanh Ward; the New City Center area, Binh Duong Ward; and Tam Thang Tower Square, Vung Tau Ward.

In addition, four locations will feature low-altitude fireworks: Ba Ria Square Park, Ba Ria Ward; Dam Sen Cultural Park, Binh Thoi Ward; Saigon Marina IFC Tower, Sai Gon Ward; and Kim Long Villa Area (Rach Dia Bridge), Nha Be Commune.

The city will also coordinate the organization of a documentary and photographic exhibition at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street (Nguyen Van Binh Street, Sai Gon Ward); work with the Department of Foreign Affairs to host a reception for members of the diplomatic corps and international organizations in the city to mark the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and organize physical education and sports activities to celebrate Children's Olympic Day and summer sports activities across Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, many localities and organizations will hold various activities, including the “Save Turtles Run 2026” in Con Dao Special Administrative Region and the VnExpress Vung Tau International Half Marathon Herbalife Cup 2026.
