This coordination makes an important contribution to the management and protection of aquatic resources and maintaining security and order on inland waterways.
The two forces co-organized direct guidance sessions at fishing ports, boat moorings, estuaries, fishing wharves and coastal fishing villages, disseminating the provisions of the Fisheries Law; prohibited acts in fishery exploitation; responsibilities of ship owners, captains and crew members. They also informed the fishermen about the consequences and sanctions for IUU fishing violations.
The sessions are in the form of visual guidance, direct dialogue, distributing leaflets, and signing commitments. The functional forces have helped fishermen better understand the requirements to respect foreign waters, prohibited fishing gear, to maintain the operation of cruise monitoring equipment, and to strictly implement the recording and submitting logs as prescribed.

Through inspection, the two forces promptly detected, reminded and strictly handled cases of fishing vessels that were not eligible to operate, contributing to preventing IUU fishing violations right from the shore.
The coordination of information exchange and unification of handling measures between forces has improved the efficiency of state management of fishing activities, creating deterrence and prevention of violations.
In the coming time, the two forces will continue to strictly strengthen coordination, innovate forms of guidance, patrols, control and handle violations. They will also enhance the role and responsibility of fishermen in abiding by the law.
The close and effective coordination between the two forces has been making an important contribution to all levels, sectors and all fishermen joining hands to combat IUU fishing, building Vietnam's fisheries industry to develop sustainably, responsibly, and internationally.
