Japan Prime Minister's spouse visits Vietnamese handicapped children

(VNF) - Japanese Prime Minister’s spouse Akie Abe visited disabled children who are receiving treatment in Hanoi Rehabilitation Hospital on January 16.

She expressed her pleasure to see the Japanese Saori hand weaving therapy has been used popularly in Vietnam as a treatment approach for handicapped children. She also stated that Japan is interested in supporting the disabled and needy children, the government is willing to to assist Vietnam in developing more programmes in this respect.

According to Pham Van Minh, director of the hospital, various therapies have been applied in treatment for 4,000 disabled children at the hospital. Japanese delegations made regular visit to the hospital, supplying relevant equipments and training on Saori technique, he noted.

On the same day, Ms. Abe had a meeting with outstanding Vietnamese youngsters who were participants in the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme – which was initiated by Japan in 1974.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his spouse are on a two-day visit to Vietnam from January 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc./.
