The representative office will help to provide more information about Japan to Vietnamese people, and timely settle requirements of tourists. It will also be a bridge for the two sides to enhance exchange, cooperation and mutual understanding.
In 2015, Japanese tourist arrivals to Vietnam reached more than 671,000, while the figure was over 611,000 in the first ten months of 2016, a year-on-year rise of 11%.
The country expects to greet about 750,000 Japanese tourist arrivals in 2016.
Meanwhile, the number of Vietnamese holidaymakers to Japan saw a record growth with 4.4 fold in the 2010-2015 period, from 42,000 to 185,000 arrivals./.
