Japanese professor finds anti-erosion solution in Cua Dai beach
There is a Japanese Professor who we don’t know how many time he has been to Hoi An for the past two years to study and find solutions for erosion problem in Cua Dai beach.
Professor Tanaka
Professor Tanaka is currently Vice Chairman of Japan Society of Civil Engineers cum President of Tohoku University. He is well known in Japan as well as in the world in adjusting estuarine circulation. Though busy with work in Japan, he is still taking time to study the problem of Cua Dai. “I’ve been to Cua Dai nearly 100 times since mid-2015 to now”, said Prof. Tanaka.
What is worth cherishing is that Prof. Tanaka spends his time and money to do this not for any benefit. All his efforts and hard work is simply for the love with Hoi An, especially the fear of losing this beautiful beach.

Professor Tanaka and partners
If someone has a chance to visit Cua Dai beach on this time, it is easy to see a humble tent under coconut root, behind Agribank hotel. That is where Prof. Tanaka and his team are day and night collecting data of wave and wind.
