Sharing his joy upon receiving the recognition from Guinness World Records, painter Nguyen Thanh Tung, who has always accompanied and supported Chu Nhat Quang in his creative journey, said: “This work is an unprecedented milestone, a single-panel, large-scale lacquer painting, not assembled. This success comes not only from Chu Nhat Quang’s individual efforts but also from the steadfast support of his relatives, such as his father - Meritorious Artist Chu Luong, and his brother-in-law, painter Nguyen Thanh Tung. They have stood by Chu Nhat Quang since his early career upon returning to Vietnam, encouraging and contributing to the realization of the young artist’s creative ideas. |
Speaking about the creative journey, painter Chu Nhat Quang shared: “The six years of creating this work was a challenging path, from collecting historical documents and producing sketches to overcoming technical difficulties in processing, transporting, and executing on a panel weighing tons for a lacquer painting. Throughout this process, I always received invaluable support from my family and painter Nguyen Thanh Tung in researching materials, experimenting with recycled substances combined with traditional lacquer.”
“When the work was completed right in time for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of September 2, I was overwhelmed with incomparable happiness. This is the most practical way for me and my colleagues to pay tribute to the generations who built the foundation of independence.” - Painter Chu Nhat Quang
