Lao, Cambodian Students Meet Vietnamese Host Families
Recently, 55 Lao and Cambodian students studying at Da Lat University, in Ho Chi Minh City were adopted by Vietnamese families. This is an activity to create an environment for students from Laos and Cambodia to experience the daily life of Vietnamese families.
These activities are held to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967-June 24, 2022) and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022).

On April 22, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Lam Dong province held a meeting with Lao students studying at Da Lat University and their sponsor families, on the occasion of the celebration for the Bunpimay Festival 2022, the traditional New Year of Laos.
The Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Lam Dong province announced the decision to recognize 5 families as sponsors of 5 Lao students studying at Da Lat University, the academic year 2021-2026.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Lao students performed a wrist-tying ceremony, giving peace and luck to the attendees. It is said that a special thread tied to each one's wrist is the symbol of peace, harmony, good fortune, good health and human warmth and community.

On April 23, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the City Youth Union and the city's socio-political organizations to organize the program in 2022 named "Vietnamese families with students from Laos and Cambodia studying in Ho Chi Minh City”. At the program, 50 Lao and Cambodian students met their adoptive parents from Vietnamese families.
The program contributed to emotional bonding, supported the material and spiritual life of students from Laos and Cambodia during their time in Ho Chi Minh City. Moreover, it also aimed to propagandize, educate and improve the understanding of Lao and Cambodian students about the country, people, culture, history, traditions, the special solidarity and cooperation comprehensive relations.
