President of the Australia-Vietnam Talent Network (AVTN) Hannah Huyen Vu noted that Vietnamese Culture Day is not only a cultural celebration, but it also serves as a platform for connecting the Vietnamese community, strengthening ties between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland. Moreover, the event also fosters sustainable cooperation between Vietnam and Australia in the fields of culture, education, trade, and innovation.

This year's event will be held under the theme “Vietnam in Full Colour,” celebrating the richness and diversity of Vietnamese culture in the heart of Australia. Organizers expect to attract more than 5,000 visitors, with the program featuring three key highlights.

Colour of Culture segment will present a vibrant stage program blending traditional and contemporary performances, including ao dai presentations, lion dances, and modern musical performances. Colour of Cuisine will introduce visitors to signature dishes and regional specialties from northern, central, and southern Vietnam. Colour of Connection will feature exhibitions by Vietnamese and Australian businesses, trading activities, and multicultural community engagement programs.

The 2026 edition marks the second time a major Vietnamese cultural event has been held at Forrest Place, Perth’s iconic city-centre public square, following the success of the 2025 community celebration. Returning to this landmark venue reflects the confidence and support of local authorities and the wider community in the quality and scale of the event.

The event further underscores the increasingly important role of overseas Vietnamese communities in promoting Vietnam’s international image, advancing economic cooperation, and sharing Vietnamese cultural values with the wider world. Through Vietnamese Culture Day 2026, the organizers hope to make such a meaningful contribution to strengthening the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership while reinforcing the strengths of the Vietnamese community in Australia to build long-lasting bridges of friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the two countries.
