Letter of Condolence From Austrian - Vietnamese Association.

The letter reads:

"The Austrian - Vietnamese Association extends it deepest condolences to the people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the passing of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.

General Secretary Trong firmly believed in the enormous potential of his country and his countrymen and aimed to fully exploit it through his political actions. During his lifetime, Vietnam developed from a poor, war-torn nation to a middle-income country that is well integrated into the global economy. Internationally, Vietnam became a respected and influential promoter of regional cooperation, peace and stability under the umbrella of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, while maintaining its independent foreign policy. General Secretary Trong also played an important role in strengthening relations with the European Union and Austria.

Our heartfelt thoughts are with the people of Vietnam and General Secretary Trong’s family during this difficult time.
