According to information presented at the congress, during the 2020-2025 term, despite many difficulties and challenges, the Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Association of Hue city maintained its operations, carried out people-to-people external information and communication effectively, flexibly renewed its operating methods to gradually adapt to the new context, and paid attention to building and consolidating its organizational structure. As a result, the Association continued to maintain good relations with friendship organizations, kindred associations, and Thai friends.

The congress elected the Executive Committee of the Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Association of Hue city and adopted orientations, objectives, and key tasks for the 2025-2030 term. Dinh Manh Thang continued to receive confidence and was elected President of the Association, while Tran Thi Mai was elected Honorary President of the Association for the fourth term.
In his directive remarks, Nguyen Van Thanh praised the organization of the congress and affirmed that it received strong attention from the leadership of the Hue City Party Committee, the Hue City People’s Committee, and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue city. He congratulated and commended the Association for overcoming the difficulties of the 2020-2025 term, striving to maintain its activities, and making practical contributions to the implementation and development of the Viet Nam-Thailand comprehensive strategic partnership, especially in culture, tourism, education and training, economy, trade, and investment.
Emphasizing the historical significance of Viet Nam-Thailand friendship, Nguyen Van Thanh said that the Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Association of Hue city and member associations nationwide should continue to work together to nurture the close relationship between the two countries - a relationship laid by President Ho Chi Minh in the years 1928-1929. He reiterated that 2026 will be of special importance as the two countries commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations, and that the Central Association will coordinate with the Thailand-Viet Nam Friendship Association and local associations to organize many practical people-to-people exchange activities.

At the congress, Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, thanked the Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Association of Hue city for its continued companionship and support for the activities of the Thai Consulate General, contributing to the promotion of economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation between Hue city and Thai localities and enterprises. She expressed her hope to continue coordinating with the Association and the Hue city authorities to organize more professional and cultural exchange activities on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Viet Nam-Thailand diplomatic relations.
On this occasion, the Hue City Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue city presented the Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Association of Hue city with a banner bearing the inscription: “Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Association of Hue city: Solidarity-Friendship-Cooperation-Development.” The President of the Central Association also presented Certificates of Merit to the collective and individual members of the Executive Committee of the Viet Nam-Thailand Friendship Association of Hue city for the 2020-2025 term.
